Teachers Earn National Board Certification

Vian Elementary School 3rd Grade teachers, Amber Rainwater and Lisa Thompson, received good news on November 5th. They achieved National Board Certification for Professional Teachers. National Board Certification is a very difficult process that includes the submission of videotaped lessons, a portfolio of work, and six computerized tests. The process costs thousands of dollars and has taken three years to complete. National Board Certification is the “Gold Standard” for teaching professionals. National Board Certified Teachers are considered superior teachers. Mrs. Rainwater and Mrs. Thompson demonstrate this level of superior teaching and professionalism on a daily basis.

Vian Public Schools appreciates the hard work and dedication that Mrs. Rainwater and Mrs. Thompson have contributed to their students, to the school district, and to the community.
