Vian FFA students recently competed in the Sequoyah County Land Judging and Farm Survey contests at Roland on November 7. Over 150 county FFA members from Vian, Roland, Gans, Muldrow, Gore, and Sallisaw gathered at the Roland High School Agriculture Education building at 8:30 A. M. Wednesday morning. FFA members registered and received scorecards before being bussed to the contest site. The Sequoyah County Conservation District and NRCS set-up the contest and tabulated scores when the competition was completed. Team trophies were awarded for 1st through 3rd place teams in each division and medals for all members of the first place winning teams.
FFA members from Vian proved to be successful in this year’s contests. The Vian Sr. Survey team placed 1st and team members were Bobby Risley, Dalton Weer, Bodhi Vann and Tyler Hutchinson. Vian’s Jr. Land Judging team also placed 1st with Kacie Gibbins, Tuff Trotter, Jasey Ecker and Cobee Cook-Cobb. The Vian Sr. Land Judging team placed 1st as well, with Tee Jay Trotter, Cash Wright, Ben Spyres and Brooks Coffee
