About Me

Education

Educational History:

Graduated from Sallisw High School in 1982.

Graduated from  Northeastern State University in 1987 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Family Serivces.  

I went back to college in 1993 to get my degreee in Early Childhood Education.  

 

Degrees and Certifications:

Bachelors of Science in Family Services. 
 

Early Childhood Edication Courses and Certificate.   

Current Position:

I started teaching in 1997 and have spent my whole carreer in Vian Elementary School.  I have always been in first grade and plan to stay in first grade until I retire.

Previous Position:

Before I started teaching, I was a social worker.  I was in Education Training and Employment for South Tulsa County for five years.  When we moved to VIan, I worked in TANF for two years before getting a teaching position in Vian.  

Family Information:

I married Tim Parks in 1990 and we have two children.  Our son is named Jonathan. He is currently a First Lieutenant in the United States Air Force. He is an RPA Pilot at Whiteman Air Force abase.   Our daughter is named Mattie and is a senior at Northeaster State University and majoring is Speech, Language Pathology.   I could not possibly be more proud of my family. 

Personal Information:

When not teaching I am with my family.  Since both of my children live on their own, I am now a parent of two Miniature Schnauzers named Elliot and Truman. They keep me very busy!  If I find myself with spare time, I LOVE to read!  I have been a reader since I was in the first grade and love it to this day.  I try to get a bit of walking exercise in to round out my days!

Mrs. Eubanks

Mrs. Eubanks has been with me since 2001 and I hope to have her till I retire!  She is not just an aide in our class, she is the other half of the teaching team!  She is from VIan and has lived her whole life.  She graduated from Vian in 1975 and attended Notheastern State University and Conner’s State College.  She is married to KC Eubanks and has two children,   Lisa Tyler and  Heath Eubanks.  She is super proud of her two grandchildren, Sadie and Carson Tyler too!  Her hobbies are her grandchildren and her flowers.  SHe also plays the piano at Landmark Baptist Church.
